Evening Catering Assistant Key Responsibilities 

• Assist in the professional service of evening meals, ensuring every guest or student receives high-quality food with a warm and attentive approach. 

• Support the kitchen team with essential food preparation tasks, including assembling dishes, plating desserts, and organising grab-and-go selections. 

• Keep all areas spotless by cleaning work surfaces, washing equipment, and resetting the dining space ready for the following day. 

• Adhere to food safety regulations and allergen protocols, ensuring every meal is served safely and in line with current health standards. 

• Carry out end-of-service duties including securing the kitchen, storing stock correctly, and powering down equipment at close. 

Kent Catering Assistant Candidate Requirements 

• Prior experience in a catering or kitchen setting is an advantage, though a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally valued. 

• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage professionally with customers throughout busy evening service periods. 

• As these are evening-based roles, we're looking for reliable individuals who can commit to their scheduled shifts across Kent. 

• A working knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices - a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is a distinct advantage. 

• For positions within schools or care environments, a valid Enhanced DBS check will be required (we're happy to support your application).
