Essex Home Care Chef Key Responsibilities
As a Home Care Chef, you are responsible for more than just great taste; you provide nutrition and comfort to residents with diverse needs.
Manage full menu planning, strict allergen management, and all health and safety compliance requirements.
Oversee stock control, inventory rotation, and kitchen budget management.
Prepare high-quality, specialised meals tailored to various dietary needs (including IDDSI standards) and cultural requirements.
Ensure a highly organised kitchen environment and consistently deliver nutritious, quality meals that residents look forward to.
Essex Home Care Chef Job Requirements
To thrive in the Essex care sector, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Proven experience as a Chef within a Care Home, Hospital, or similar healthcare environment.
Relevant qualifications in professional cooking or equivalent verified culinary experience.
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or higher) with a comprehensive understanding of HACCP protocols.
An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role.
Must have the temperament and ability to work effectively and sensitively within a care home environment.
